Ordinary Epics partners with Methodist Rehab Center to gravel for a great cause

Jackson, MS: Today Ordinary Epics announced a new partnership with Methodist Rehab Center to add a gravel/mixed surface option to its annual fundraiser, ‘Ride for Methodist Rehab’ (RMR), to be held October 26, 2019. “This is the 6th year The Bike Crossing has put on this benefit for our Wilson Research Foundation at Methodist Rehab,” said Chris Blount, Foundation Director. “We are excited to work with Ordinary Epics in adding a gravel option to our routes so we can expand the reach of our mission.”

RMR will now offer four route options – 25, 45, and 62 mile road routes along with a 45 mile mixed surface/gravel ride. The ride will be well supported by Methodist Rehab employees at Halloween themed rest stops. Returning riders will be treated to a picnic on the grounds of the Methodist Rehab Center, Ridgeland Campus.

Ordinary Epics, an outdoor adventure company dedicated to helping ordinary people do extraordinary things, couldn’t be more pleased to lend its experience in both route building and group rides to this mixed surface ride for both beginners and more seasoned gravel riders. “It’s always an honor to be asked to partner in getting more people on bikes,” said Wendi Shearer, Chief Community Officer. “The route we have created for RMR includes s a few favorite roads of the gravel community and will be fun for everyone, from the brand new rider to the experienced adventure cyclist. We can’t wait to show these gravel roads off and to visit the spooky Halloween themed rest stops!”

“Methodist Rehab is Mississippi’s only comprehensive rehabilitation hospital dedicated to treating people who have had a stroke, brain or spinal injury”, said Blount.” You don’t have to ride bikes in order to help support this effort; your charitable gift can be made by visiting our giving site today. No gift is too small -  $25 can make a difference in our patients’ recovery path.”
